Got a question?  Maybe the garden team can help!

A fellow Gardener asked about white powder on her petunias.  Some research

determined that this might be powdery mildew, a fungal infection spread by the wind,

and can also spread from plant to plant.

It will not kill your plants, but will reduce their blooms and disfigure the plants.  It can also

spread to other flowers and vegetables.

What to do?  Remove any damaged parts of the plant and throw them in the garbage,

not in your compost.  Overhead watering will help to wash off the spores.  You can also

use a very mild detergent mixture.  Be sure your plants are in full sun and have

good air circulation.

Good luck!
